Oven Temperature Conversion Guide
Recipes from different countries use different temperature scales. UK recipes often use Gas Marks, US recipes use Fahrenheit, and most of the world uses Celsius. Fan ovens run about 20°C cooler than conventional ovens, so you need to reduce the temperature when using fan-assisted mode.
Gas Mark → Celsius
°C ≈ (Gas Mark × 14) + 121. Gas 4 = 180°C, Gas 6 = 200°C.
Fan Oven Adjustment
Reduce by 20°C (25°F) from conventional. 200°C conv = 180°C fan.
